Lloyd Blankfein, the chairman and chief executive officer of leading global investment bank Goldman Sachs, believes “Bitcoin is just not his thing”.
“I don’t do it. I don’t own Bitcoin,” said Blankfein at the Economic Club of New York, while commenting on the world’s largest cryptocurrency according to market capitalization.
Goldman Sachs, which invests and provides financial services, has reportedly tested and calculated opportunities in digital currency, however, it is yet to take a decision.
The investment banking giant has also developed a blueprint for a future Bitcoin trading operation.
“If we went into the future and bitcoins were successful, I would be able to explain how it’s a natural evolution of money,” said the Goldman Sachs CEO, who had previously expressed a level of discomfort with Bitcoin but said that he was open to it.
