Women’s Digital League, a Pakistani social enterprise striving to empower women in the digital landscape, has reportedly joined hands with Facebook to bring its #SheMeansBusiness program to Pakistan.
#SheMeansBusiness is a program created by Facebook which offers space for “entrepreneurial women to make valuable connections, share advice and move forward, together”. The initiative assists and enables women entrepreneurs and business owners in effectively using the social media tools for businesses.
The partnership between Facebook and Women’s Digital League for the #SheMeansBusiness initiative will increase awareness about the business products offered through Facebook. It will enable the Pakistani women running their startups and wanting to scale their market to benefit from these cutting-edge tools.
Women’s Digital League has announced that initially it aims to start this project by training women in Peshawar, Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi. Once these areas are covered, Women’s Digital League will move on to its next targets which include the northern areas of Pakistan like Hunza. Pakistan isn’t listed as a country on the #SheMeansBusiness official website as yet, but hopefully the location will appear as the program becomes more active.
