Swedish truck manufacturer Scania wants to bring their trucks and buses to the Pakistani market through a distribution partnership with Yousaf Dewan Companies. If the investment is a fruitful one they will formally announce plans of opening up a manufacturing plant in Pakistan.
The China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) raises interest for the truck manufacturer’s interests in the country, “Pakistan is quickly emerging as a preferred investment destination in the world; the automotive industry in particular, especially in the wake up CPEC.” says Christian Levin, executive Vice President of Scania. This is also big news for smart fleet management solutions to be used for more effective and efficient management of transportation fleets.
Scania has been around for 125 years and is operating in more than 100 countries with revenues in excess of $11 billion in 2015.
